11 Mar 2019

Big Bend, Wisconsin – (March 7, 2019) –The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council No. 7 (IUPAT DC7) has just joined in an exciting partnership with Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP).

This partnership will bring together the largest union of painters, glaziers, drywall taping and finishing contractors in Wisconsin with one of the most progressive local change agents fighting poverty. Working together, the organizations aim to help those living in poverty to obtain quality employment through IUPAT.

IUPAT DC7 Program provides on-the-job training and education to produce the productive, skilled workers companies seek to employ.

“The opportunity for us to join forces with WISCAP was an obvious choice for us. Together, we'll be able to change the lives of people in our community. Parents who have been struggling to get dinner on the table will finally have confidence in their career path. They'll have a secure, well-paying position with benefits and the effects of that are immeasurable," said Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer Jeff Merhoff.

Merhoff continued, “Our union is committed to producing a productive, skilled, safety-focused workforce—the most knowledgeable and accomplished of all craft workers in North America. With our unsurpassed training opportunities and ongoing support, these individuals will find quality, life-changing employment."
